Growing Invisible Voices, a new book from the Oklahoma-based non profit Invisible Young Voices, Inc., encourages partner teachers to discover the young writers hidden in their classes, provides the tools and moral support teachers need to nurture those kids, and helps educators find opportunities to recognize and publish those writers’ stories.

Invisible Young Voices, Inc. has been awarded a $500 grant by the Oklahoma Educators Credit Union to sponsor the four $100 first place prizes and the $50 prizes for the Education and Fresh Voices categories of the first annual Young Voices Writing Contest.

NOBLE, OK (May 28, 2017) — While some teachers are looking forward to relaxing for a few days during the summer, one Oklahoma high school teacher instead started a nonprofit seeking to help teachers identify hidden young writers in their classrooms.
